Udine, 3 February 2022 – Once again it’s time for Friuli Venezia Giulia to combine with Serie A to boost visitor numbers in the region. 2022 sees the continuation of the partnership between the region’s tourist board PromoTurismoFVG and Udinese Calcio 2022, with Grado and Lignano Sabbiadoro the featured locations over the second half of the season.

Udinese’s players will once again help to promote the region’s two main seaside resorts ahead of the summer tourist season. This follows in the footsteps of promotional campaigns covering other memorable locations in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region such as its magnificent mountains, glorious coastline, and charming villages and cities.

In addition, Udinese’s team bus will be personalised with these two coastal locations, while the lockers in the away dressing room will be adorned with images of some of the region’s most iconic locations. This has had quite an impact with visiting teams and Udinese promoting the Friuli Venezia Giulia brand by sharing photos on social media.

The exit from the tunnel leading to the pitch and the backdrops in the interview area and the mixed zone will also feature Lignano Sabbiadoro and Grado images and logos, while the pitchside LED screens during matches will promote the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in general and the seaside resorts in particular.

Lignano Sabbiadoro and Grado will also appear on the tracksuit tops worn by the players as they line up before kick-off at home and away matches, which will soon be available to buy at Udinese Calcio's online store (store.udinese.it).

Other initiatives include social-media posts and promotional campaigns on local and national TV and newspapers celebrating Friuli Venezia Giulia and its attractions with the participation of Udinese, as well as adverts on the giant screens at the stadium and FVG promotional material available to fans in the common areas of Dacia Arena during matches.

Thanks to Udinese Calcio and the club's array of international stars, the Friuli Venezia Giulia region is guaranteed regular visibility on major international TV networks and newspapers.

In addition, Dacia Arena, a multifunctional stadium held up as a model in Europe and worldwide, attracts fans and guests from across Italy and Europe on matchday as well as corporate events on a weekly basis.

The relationship forged by Udinese Calcio and PromoTurismoFVG in recent years with the aim of promoting Friuli Venezia Giulia further underlines Udinese's strong ties with the surrounding area.

“This partnership between our club and PromoTurismoFVG has developed naturally over the last few seasons, offering us the opportunity to promote our region, its iconic locations and food and wine specialties around Italy and the world,” said Udinese Calcio managing director Franco Collavino. “It is a mission we undertake with immense pride and responsibility. We are honoured to represent Friuli across the globe through initiatives such as this.”

“Udinese Calcio and their footballers have joined us in this partnership to promote Friuli Venezia Giulia for several seasons now,” said regional minister for business and tourism Sergio Emidio Bini. “Although small, our region excels in many areas including sport and these sports stars help us to fly the Friuli Venezia Giulia flag around Italy and the world. It's another opportunity for us to advertise our region and attract new tourists so they can discover the wonders of our charming region.”
