On this day in 2006, Giovanni Galeone’s Udinese served up an impressive 3-0 win away at Parma in Week 6 of the 2006/07 Serie A season.
Udinese came into the match unbeaten since the first day of the season. They had lost 1-0 at Messina on the opening day, but following this up with a 2-0 win over Torino at home, a 3-3 draw away at Sampdoria, a 1-0 home win over Fiorentina and a 0-0 draw at home against Ascoli.

Iaquinta then added the third and final goal on 67 minutes, courtesy of an assist from a certain Antonio Di Natale.
The result meant Udinese moved up to 11 points as they continued their impressive start to the season.
The match is also remembered for a health scare involving Galeone, who was taken ill just before the half-time whistle. Galeone went to hospital for tests, but was well enough to travel back to Udine with his squad.
The Udinese line-up that day was as follows: De Sanctis, D Zenoni, Zapata, Felipe (Coda 3), Dossena; Obodo, Muntari, Pinzi; Gyan (D' Agostino 80), Iaquinta, Di Natale (Eremenko 69).
Udinese followed up the win over Parma with a 0-0 draw at home against Inter and a 1-1 draw away at Empoli. Two defeats followed, away at Livorno (1-0) and Lazio (5-0), sparking an up-and-down run which led to Galeone’s sacking and the appointment of Alberto Malesani.
Udinese would finish the season in tenth position.
