Udine, 30 June 2025 – Udine and Friuli Venezia Giulia are ready to host the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday 13 August at the Bluenergy Stadium - Stadio Friuli in Udine. The two clubs facing off will be Paris Saint-Germain, winners of the Champions League, and Tottenham Hotspur, winners of the Europa League. The match will start at 21:00.

There will be many initiatives related to the event starting from the weeks leading to the match, which will involve Udine as well as other cities in the region. These include events as well as promotional initiatives such as museums that will be open, free or offering discounts for ticketholders. This is the result of the collaboration between PromoTurismoFVG, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Municipality of Udine, FIGC and UEFA, who all worked together to turn Udine and the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia region into a great stage for an international event that will be watched by millions of people.

The UEFA Super Cup, together with all the initiatives related to this event, which is going to be held for the very first time in Italy ever since the trophy has been awarded in a single match, was presented on 30 June at the Bluenergy Stadium - Stadio Friuli, during a press conference attended by the president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, the Mayor of Udine, Alberto Felice De Toni, the General Manager of Udinese Calcio Franco Collavino and the president of FIGC and first vice-president of UEFA Gabriele Gravina.

VOLUNTEERS

In line with the previous programmes promoted in collaboration with UEFA and FIGC, the Volunteers Programme for the UEFA Super Cup recruited 300 volunteers of 27 different nationalities, 45% of whom are women. There will be 195 volunteers from Friuli Venezia Giulia, who have been selected to support the sports professionals in their activities during the final and on the days leading to the event. They will assist them at the Bluenergy Stadium - Stadio Friuli and at the official UEFA venues.

THE LOGO: THE REGION’S EAGLE

UEFA has designed a logo dedicated to the city and the region for this occasion, associated with the official logo of the UEFA Super Cup, using the image of the eagle to promote a match that will be watched all over the world.

CITY DRESSING: THE CITIES “DRESS UP” FOR THE SUPER CUP

Five cities will be wearing the UEFA Super Cup graphics: Gorizia, Grado, Lignano, Trieste and Udine – which constitute the various stages of the Trophy Experience – with the goal of personalising the event and enhancing the match’s media visibility from 28 July to 14 August. There will be a giant, branded football located in a strategic position in each city.

TROPHY EXPERIENCE: THE CUPS TRAVEL ACROSS THE REGION

From 29 July to 13 August the cups of the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Super Cup will be part of a road trip that will include four cities of the region and finally the city of Udine. The initiative will start on 29 July with the Super Cup being displayed in Gorizia, the 2025 European Capital of Culture, at the Ferramenta Krainer hardware store in via Rastello, until 31 July. From 2 to 4 August, the cups of the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Super Cup will be in Trieste, displayed at the main entrance of the Palace of the Region (Piazza Unità entrance). On 6 and 7 August the three cups will be in Grado, in the GIT (Grado Tourist Facilities) facilities; then they will go to the seaside of Lignano Sabbiadoro, one day in the Sabbiadoro area and one day in the Pineta area, in both cases they will be transported on the event’s truck. The last stage of the Trophy Experience will therefore be Udine, where the three trophies will be displayed for the fans on 12 and 13 August at the UEFA Fan Village in Piazza Libertà. There will be an inauguration event in each of these cities, with the participation of local government officials and “Io sono Friuli Venezia Giulia” athlete ambassadors upon the arrival of the cups, with some free gifts for the first fans who will take a picture.

UEFA FAN FESTIVAL IN UDINE
On Tuesday 12 (from 10:00 to 22:00) and Wednesday 13 August (from 10:00 to 18:00), piazza Libertà will host the UEFA Fan Festival, where the Super Cup final can be celebrated together with UEFA and all the competition’s partners, with sports activities, games and fun for all sports fans. There will be a play area for children. Also, with the support of the Municipality and FIGC, some local summer camps and football academies will take part in the initiative. The UEFA Fan Festival – where the three cups will be displayed – will also provide games and free gifts for everyone; in via Mercatovecchio the sponsors will organise games and activities for the audience; in piazza San Giacomo, from 29 July to 13 August all eyes will be on the Giant Trophy, a 4-metre installation representing the trophy that will follow fans, athletes, tourists and citizens in the weeks leading to the match.

FANS: TWO FAN MEETING POINTS

Two areas have been prepared for the fans of the two competing teams, one for each group: piazza Primo Maggio for the Tottenham fans and the Moretti Park for the Paris Saint-Germain fans. The two Fan Meeting Points will be open from 10:00 to 18:00 on 13 August. There will be entertainment, food&beverage, services, a stage for deejay sets and temporary themed installations.

THE MATCH TICKET IS ALSO A PASS TO DISCOVER THE REGION’S CULTURE

PromoTurismoFVG, in collaboration with the cities involved in the event, has developed a series of benefits and discounts in Udine and the rest of the region to harness the event's media visibility and the presence of many fans in the city to showcase the different parts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, turning the match ticket into a pass that offers great advantages to its holder and a person accompanying them. The goal is to encourage the visitors to discover other initiatives too, as well as activities and beautiful places not far from Udine, by investing in the region’s large number of activities and destinations.

From 28 July to 11 August, ticketholders (together with one person accompanying them) will be able to access museums at a lower price. From 28 July to 15 August, they will also be able to collect a free audio guide from any tourist information centre (infopoint in Italian). On 12 August all museums will be open and accessible to everyone to celebrate the start of the UEFA Fan Festival.

The promotions for ticketholders will not be limited to Udine. There will be promotions across the entire region with discounted tickets to access – from 28 July to 11 August – the Civic Museums of Trieste, the Aquileia Basilica, Titus Macer’s House and the National Archaeological Museum, as well as the “Zoran Music. The Zurich Room, the works, the studio” exhibition in Gorizia, the Civic Museums of Pordenone and Palazzo del fumetto (Comic Book Museum), the Gorizia Castle, the archaeological Museum of Cividale del Friuli and the Lombard Temple, the Christian Museum, the De Martiis and Cips Gallery, the History Museum and the Park of Miramare Castle. From 29 July to 15 August, the audio guides of Gorizia, Palmanova, Pordenone and Trieste can also be collected for free at the region’s tourist information centres (infopoint in Italian).

Promotions regarding Lignano Sabbiadoro and Grado will also be activated in July, while some of the other related activities include the creation of the T-shirt dedicated to the Trophy Experience/UEFA Super Cup, which will be available shortly on the www.friuliveneziagiuliashop.it site and the keepsake pass “Io c’ero”, a free gift for the first participants of the Trophy Experience.

A LANDING PAGE WITH ALL THE USEFUL INFORMATION

LOCAL AMBASSADOR

Jonathan Milan is a cyclist, Olympic champion and winner – among others – of many Giro d’Italia stages. He will be the event’s local ambassador: other athletes and clubs that will be representing the Io sono Friuli Venezia Giulia brand will be involved in the promotion process through micro and macro influencer activities and the participation in the related events.

“This is an extremely important event, which in its previous edition was watched by 22 million viewers on television and which will showcase Friuli Venezia Giulia to the world,” said Massimiliano Fedriga, the president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. “Choosing to hold the 2025 European Super Cup final between PSG and Tottenham in Udine means acknowledging the quality of our facilities, the region’s logistical centrality and the extensive expertise, also in terms of safety and security, which has been developed over the years by the entire institutional and regional system, in the organisation of events of this scale: an acknowledgement we are very proud of.  Finally, there’s the football competition, with two world-class clubs competing, whose top players will be part of a match that is bound to be forever remembered in the sports history of Friuli Venezia Giulia.”

“To Udine, hosting the UEFA Super Cup final is a source of pride and satisfaction. Such internationally important sporting events are usually held in large cities or European capitals. For this reason, choosing Udine is an outstanding achievement that we are very proud of” said Alberto Felice De Toni, the mayor of Udine. “I would like to thank UEFA for the trust they have put in our city, as well as FIGC, Udinese Calcio and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region for their joint efforts that have made this important achievement possible. This event is an opportunity in many ways: economically, in terms of sport, culture and tourism. Udine will have the honour of hosting one of the most prestigious events on the international football landscape, with the participation of two of the most popular teams in the world. It will be a unique opportunity to show the whole world the beauty of our region, promote our local success stories and further enhance the city’s image. As City Council we are working together with all stakeholders to ensure that this event is not only a very prestigious football match, but also a fully-fledged celebration for the entire region.”

According to Franco Collavino, Managing Director of Udinese Calcio: “Hosting the Super Cup in our stadium is a great source of pride. The whole world will be watching Italy, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Udine. It will be an unforgettable night. Our stadium has proven once again that it is a great facility at an international level, that it can attract events of global importance and create economic ripple-effects for the entire region. We are extremely happy that UEFA and FIGC have shown such respect towards us, and we aim at hosting more large events such as this one.

Gabriele Gravina, president of FIGC and first vice-president of UEFA: “It is an honour to host the UEFA Super Cup for the first time in Italy. Choosing Udine has been the result of a lot of teamwork, an excellent synergy between local bodies, the Federation and Udinese, who convinced the most important European body about the efficiency and quality of our organisation. The match will be held at the Bluenergy Stadium - Stadio Friuli, a modern facility that is the product of forty years of hard work by the Pozzo family, created with a far-sighted vision centred on helping Italian football grow. I would like to thank UEFA and president [Aleksander] Ceferin for trusting us. I firmly believe that the event will be a huge success. Through this event we are showcasing Friuli Venezia Giulia to the entire world, which will have the chance to discover a wonderful land, an extraordinary kaleidoscope of cultures, a region that is truly unique thanks to its welcoming spirit, cultural and natural beauty, long-standing sports tradition and food and wine success stories. The perfect combination of entertainment on the pitch and across the region, thanks to the far-sightedness of president Fedriga and the crucial contribution made by PromoTurismoFVG, will give all football fans the chance to experience something unique.”
