After Udinese’s 1-1 stalemate at home to Verona, Vakoun Bayo shared his thoughts on his Serie A debut.
“The result is a shame because we were playing in front of our fans. At the start of the season things are always a bit tougher because of the hard work put in during pre-season and that applied to both teams today. It was a tough game and it was difficult to find space in their defence to score.
“A striker is judged on goals and I didn’t score, but I came on, held up the ball, looked for space, so that has to be recognised too. I’m happy with my debut.
“With Kamara we put together a nice move and he almost scored. If it had gone in, it would have been a great goal, but he hit the crossbar. There’s a good connection between us.
“I can play as a lone striker or alongside another forward. It makes no difference to me, but that’s up to the coach. Everything is going well for me here at Udinese. Kamara and Kabasele are helping me a lot and the city is beautiful too.”
