Vakoun Bayo, who got on the scoresheet in the 2-1 friendly victory over Strasbourg on Wednesday, spoke to club media about the contest and pre-season.
“It was a good match. It was quite tough at the start, but we managed to stay calm and tried to play our game while working on our link-up play.
“We’re at a good point in our pre-season routine. It’s the tenth day of our summer training camp and it’s all going well. We’re working hard and we could see the results on the pitch against Strasbourg, who are a good side. We pushed hard after conceding. We performed well and the overall feeling is positive.
“We changed our system today, but for me it makes no difference whether I’m playing alone or alongside another striker. It might change things for others, but a striker has to score regardless of the system and I want to score as many goals as possible. I’m happy with my second goal, which is a reward for all my hard work. I want to keep it up when Serie A starts too.”
