Rodrigo Becao celebrated his 100th appearance in Serie A for Udinese with a goal after barely a minute at the San Siro but it wasn't enough as AC Milan came back to win 4-2 on the opening day of the season.

Speaking after the game, the Brazilian defender was adamant the result would only spur the team on to improve.

“It's a shame about the result," the 26-year-old began. "We started well and got the early goal but sadly we couldn't hold onto it till the end. That's football. We have to learn from the mistakes we made and try to do better in future. It's gone now but we're a young side and the new guys need to settle into the way we play.

“We mustn't look for excuses though. We have to move on, focus on Salernitana and make sure we produce a big performance against them.

“I'm happy with the goal as I love scoring, especially if it helps the team. but at the end of the day it's the final score that matters. It's a shame but we'll strive to improve.”
