Nicolo Bertola said Udinese must improve their ball circulation if they are to prise open defensive teams like Verona.
“I think we played well today although obviously we must do a lot better," he began in the wake of Monday's 1-1 draw at Bluenergy Stadium. “They sat back and were very tidy defensively. It was hard to find space and build from the the back. We needed to move the ball around more quickly to open up gaps but we still managed to create quite a few chances. We'll work to do better in future.”
“It's going to be very difficult at San Siro next week as we'll be up against world-class players, but those are the games that excite you as a defender and motivate you to try even harder. I can't wait to play it and I hope to be able to start the match. It's a big opportunity to convince the boss to show faith in me.”
