The curtain was officially raised on the 2025/26 campaign on Thursday evening as the team was presented to the fans at a special event at Bluenergy Stadium.
A crowd of 3,000 Udinese supporters were there to give Kosta Runjaic's players a raucous welcome to fire them up for their Serie A opener, at home to Hellas Verona on Monday.
The Udinese Primavera team, coached by Julio Gutierrez, was also unveiled to the fans at the event, which was attended by Udinese Club association representatives, Friuli Venezia Giulia president Massimiliano Fedriga and Udine deputy mayor Alessandro Venanzi.
Udinese Calcio managing director Franco Collavino gave an opening speech.
“It gives us great pleasure to start the season once again with our fans,” he began. “What's more, we're doing so at Bluenergy Stadium, our home – your home – where the love for Udinese beats strong. Your support drives us on to new targets. We're grateful for your unerring support and we are convinced that this team will do your proud this season.”
Kosta Runjaic then addressed the crowd.
“It's always great to see how much passion you have when you get behind us during games at this stadium and it's nice to see so many of you here today,” he said. “I'm happy to start my second season at Udinese with this presentation, in front of you. You'll give us energy for the Verona match and the entire season and I want to thank you for that.”
The last to appear on stage were the two new dressing-room leaders: captain Jesper Karlstrom and vice-captain Sandi Lovric.
“I'm starting my fourth year here,” Lovric began. “I'm happy in Udine and I've always shown that. Thank you to all the fans for the support they give us.”
Finally, the skipper himself said a few words: “I'm very proud to be captain. I want to help the team by giving my all. I can't be anything but happy with fans like this!”
