Kosta Runjaic's assistant coach Przemyslaw Malecki took stock of a busy week after Saturday's 1-0 friendly victory over Twente in Enschede.

Here's what had to say:

“It's been a tough week with a lot of training and two high-intensity matches against young teams, Strasbourg and Twente. It was a big challenge for us but it went well. There were spells where Twente were in control of the game but we defended well and overall we had more possession.

“We're pleased because the players' fitness is improving. We're happy with the result as winning always helps but what's more important is the mentality and confidence we're building. It's another step forward as we work towards the Coppa Italia and Serie A. We're on the right track.

“[Florian] Thauvin is slowly working his way back. He started training with the team again last week and we decided to give him a brief runout today. We couldn't give him more time because he hasn't trained enough but he'll soon be able to play for longer.”
