“I’m so pleased that I played but I’m disappointed with the result. It was a tough game, but we didn’t deserve to lose.
“The first penalty took the wind out of our sails and they then shut up shop. We tried to change our style of play but they kept it very tight. We need to work hard to improve. We’ll start thinking about Venezia tomorrow.
“My year in Switzerland was split in two. It was positive until May as I was playing all the time and then I went to the U-19 Euros and had some physical issues. When I went back, the team was doing well and there wasn’t much room for me. I knew I’d come back here. This league is very different from the Swiss one, so I knew I’d need to work double as hard as the others to be up to standard.
“The coach is disappointed, as we all are. I have a great relationship with him, we talk a lot and he helps me so much, as he does with everyone. We’re a tight-knit group and we’ll all pulling in the same direction.”
