This week's guest on Udinese Tonight was Edoardo Piana. A product of the Udinese academy, Piana made his first team debut this season in the Coppa Italia round of 16 away at San Siro against Inter. The keeper talked about this match, the team's goals for what remains of the season, his future as well as the highlights and lowlights of his career so far.

"The international break went well. We got over what happened in our match against Verona. It was just a bad day at the office. We’ve kept up the hard work. That Verona match is history and we’re looking forward now. Based on what I see from my team-mates in training there’s no doubt that we’re really motivated. I can guarantee that there will be no letting up until the end of the season.

“I’ve been at Udinese for six years, since the U-15s. I feel great here and I’ve got a good relationship with the other goalkeepers. [Daniele] Padelli helps me a lot. My favourite Udinese goalkeeper that I’ve seen play is [Juan] Musso.

“It’s not easy [to be a reserve]. I try to learn every day from the other goalkeepers and to persevere, making sure I’m ready if my chance comes. I didn’t have any expectations for the match against Inter. After watching it back I know I could’ve done better in some areas, but making my debut at San Siro was a great thing in of itself. I’ll only take positive things from that experience. It all happened very quickly - two days before the match the coach decided that I’d start. I immediately called my whole family and got them come to San Siro. It was better to know in advance so that I could prepare mentally, rather than to find out at the last minute. I would’ve been more anxious.

“My aim for next season is to go and play somewhere on loan. I’m fine anywhere - I just need to play.”
