After the defeat at Marassi against Genoa, coach Kosta Runjaic had this to say:
“The first half was very scrappy. It seemed clear to me that if we had scored in the second half, we would’ve won. We missed a big opportunity.
“We’re certainly missing Florian Thauvin, but we have also got Iker Bravo. It’s true we were missing that touch of quality tonight.
“We’ve now lost three matches: one was away to Inter and against Verona we conceded from a set piece, although we could’ve done better.
“We missed the moment to score tonight. These defeats have nothing to do with the 40 points that we have. We are working hard. The lads showed desire and commitment.
“Lorenzo Lucca had a chance to score. He can improve in his duels. He commits too many fouls, but he’s still a young player and he’ll gain experience and grow.
“We’ve got a lot to improve on. We need to be more clinical, better in duels and raise our intensity. In matches like today’s, you need that bit of quality in key moments, the kind that Thauvin brings."
