Midfielder Walace spoke exclusively to Udinese TV about the team’s recent run of form and upcoming game against Sampdoria. Udinese have taken two important points from their last two games, coming away with draws against Lazio and Milan. The team will hope to use these results as a springboard to get the win at Dacia Arena on Sunday.

Reflecting on the previous two matches, Walace was disappointed not to come away with more. “We could have won the games against Lazio and Milan. We played well but it wasn’t enough. We need to do more. We must be hungry for victory. We always need to go out with a winning mentality whether we're playing in a match or at training.”

He also described the problems that the team has faced on account of the pandemic. “January was difficult because COVID meant that we had to train at home alone. When we did train out on the pitch, it was also different because there were always people missing. It’s difficult to explain, but believe me, it was strange to train alone when you’re so used to being with others.”

Looking ahead, the midfielder anticipates a fast-paced game at the weekend. “I’m expecting a high-intensity game against Sampdoria. Both teams want to win, but we’re playing at home in front of our fans. We must be hungrier than them to get the victory.”
