The Argentine shared his thoughts with Udinese TV

Fernando Forestieri was this evening’s guest on “Udinese Tonight”.
He gave his thoughts on the season so far:

“I’m happy with the point we got against Sampdoria. I think we could’ve done more, we gifted them two goals. It was a big deal for me to score yesterday, as well as being emotional, given I made my debut when I was 16 on this very pitch.

There’s a lot of dialogue within the squad. We’re a great side with a lot of quality and sometimes you feel that you’ll never slip up, but sooner or later mistakes happen. When you’re on the pitch you have little time to make decisions. We need to change our mentality in order to be able to pick up more points.

I train hard every day to show the coach that I'm ready for action. I'm looking forward to playing more and bringing my energy to my teammates on the pitch.

Whether we’ll stick with our current system? For now we’ll carry on playing with a 3-5-2.

We’re aware of Udinese’s history. We want to reach 40 points as soon as possible and then see what we’re capable of.

I feel right at home in Udine, it’s like one big family.

Where would I prefer to play in a 4-2-3-1? As a wide-left forward.

My personal goal of the season? Hitting my stride and getting a lot of game time. As for team goals, I’d like us to reach 40 points as soon as possible and then maybe aspire to matching what the club did in 2012.

I don't know why I'm not playing much at the moment, but I'm waiting for my chance. I just enjoy playing football and contributing to the team effort.

Every year seven or eight new players come in and it’s not easy to make them all gel and understand what we want to do as a team. We need to set our objectives and then take things step by step.”
