Silvestri: "We want to beat Bologna for the fans"

Our shotstopper speaks to Udinese TV ahead of this weekend's return to Serie A action

With Udinese set to host Bologna at Dacia Arena on Sunday after the international break, Marco Silvestri chatted to Udinese TV about the game and the season so far.

How have the last two weeks been and how keen are you to get back to winning ways in front of the fans at Dacia Arena?

“We've been working really well. We're ready for Bologna and I'm happy we're playing here in Udine. We'll need our fans to help us win this match. Bologna are an excellent team so it's going to be a real battle.”

The coach has had you working on a different set-up with four at the back. What does that change for you? Do you think it's something that will be introduced gradually?

“I think the boss knows exactly what he needs to do to put us out there in the best way possible. Personally I'm ready to organise the backline from the goal whether it's three or four and all the defenders are ready to play a three- or four-man system, so I don't think it will be a problem either way.”

What will Udinese need to do to beat Bologna, a team who have struggled on the road this season but nonetheless shown they're capable of good things?

“Bologna are an excellent side with some great players – especially up front. We have to be ourselves and play our game. I think we're ready to produce a top performance.”

You drew 3-3 with Sampdoria last time out – perhaps less than you deserved...

"We know we probably deserved more against Roma, Fiorentina and Samp and I think we should be at least two points better off but this is Serie A. We have to keep working hard, maintain our identity and the results will come for us.”

You've quickly established yourself as a firm fan favourite. What do you have to say to the supporters ahead of Sunday's game?

“I hope to see lots of them at the stadium. I can't wait to see Dacia Arena full of Udinese fans.”
