Tolgay Arslan headed home his side’s third goal against Inter, putting the game out of sight for the Nerazzurri and giving Udinese a memorable victory. He spoke to Udinese TV after the match:

“We played wonderfully for the whole game. Well, after their first goal. We showed how good we are as a team and how much character we have. This Udinese side isn’t just about 11 good players, we’ve got as many as 20 top footballers in the squad. There’s rotation in the team and players coming off the bench can change games. This is the way we need to be moving forward.

“Prior to scoring the winner I’d made a run into the box but Gerry Deulofeu didn’t spot me. I then told him that if he had another chance for a cross I’d get on the end of it. This is a massive win for both us as a team and Udinese’s fans.

“We put in a tremendous amount of work. There are six or seven players here who’ve been around for a while and there’s a core identity at the club. Last year our gameplan involved a lot of long balls but now we have a lot of classy players and we’re able to keep it on the deck more. I think that’s what’s changed this season.”
