Udinese haven't got the results they deserved from recent performances but it's only a matter of time before they pick up, says Jaka Bijol.

The Slovene centre-back was speaking on this week's episode of Udinese Tonight in the wake of Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Inter.

“We're playing well,” Bijol began. “Our performances were good against Inter and Sassuolo, less so against Torino, but we're not getting the results. It's a tough period but we're looking forward. If we keep playing like this, I'm sure the results will come.

“I think it's a difficult situation for the coach because we're working on every little detail, from motivation to technical and technical aspects. In the first part of the season, everything was going well for us; now we're not getting the rub of the green.

“It's especially hard for our forwards at the moment. It's difficult to talk about it here in the studio because during the game there are things you don't see. Conceding right after missing a chance was a blow for morale.”

The 24-year-old then offered his analysis of some of the key moments from the recent match at San Siro – starting with the booking that will see him serve a one-game suspension.

“I don't think my challenge on [Edin] Dzeko was worthy of a yellow, but if that's what the ref decides I accept it.

“On the third goal I thought I could get there first. Looking at it again after the match I realise I shouldn't have tried, so it was my mistake, but in that split second I thought it was the right thing to do.

“I'm having a good season personally but the team's results are more important right now. We're having a tough time of things so that's all all I'm focused on.

“I scored a good goal against Sassuolo so it's a shame we didn't win.

“I'm really sorry I won't be able to help my team-mates in the next game against Spezia. Playing in front of our fans will give us extra energy and motivation. I'll be cheering on the lads as much as anyone.”
