After scoring against Inter before the international break, Jaka Bijol picked up from where he left off with another header against Verona to seal a 2-1 injury-time win for Udinese on Monday night.

“I'm absolutely delighted,” the defender commented after the final whistle. “It's always great to score but I'm just happy for the team really as we deserved to win today. I'm proud to have been able to play my part by getting on the score sheet.”

It was another uphill struggle for Udinese after Josh Doig gave the visitors a first-half lead, but once again Andrea Sottil's side turned it around by maintaining their belief.

"You must always believe you can win the game. We were the better side in the first half but we kept pushing after the break and eventually got the victory.”

Next up are high-flying Atalanta, who currently sit joint top of the table level with Napoli, a point ahead of Udinese.

“We're ready for anyone now. We have to keep doing what we're doing. I think even better things are in store if we can keep playing as we are.”
