Gerard Deulofeu was back on the scoresheet in his side’s 2-2 with Atalanta on Sunday, with his fantastic freekick getting Udinese’s comeback under way. “I’m convinced we can always win and it’s a good sign that we don’t give up.”

The number 10 was full of praise for the hard graft that the team displayed. “It was a hard-fought match against a great side. We must appreciate this draw and six consecutive wins. Not all games are magnificent like the one against Roma. We fought hard to get the draw.”

Deulofeu broke his goal drought in the league, getting his first of the season with a scorching set-piece strike. “To tell you the truth, I was very comfortable not scoring with the team winning every game. I create lots of goals. I don’t miss scoring. I create chances for the team and often get into the area. I knew that my goal would come.”

He spoke of the importance of having fun on the pitch. “In football, you need to enjoy yourself and that’s what I see from the team. You can see the attitude we have, even from the substitutes, and that matters more than goals and assists.”

Attention now swiftly turns to the next game. “We’re already looking ahead to the upcoming match against Lazio. We’ll start to get ready this week and we’ll go to Rome to get the win. We’re doing really well. We know what we’re good at and we go into each match with confidence, even in difficult games. Lazio have some weaknesses which we’ll try to exploit.”
