Kingsley Ehizbue has opened up about Sunday's defeat to Torino, admitting his own role in Yann Karamoh's goal.

“It was hard against Torino and we weren't able to create many chances,” the wing-back began on Monday's Udinese Tonight show.

“Speaking for myself, I have to mark better. I know it was my mistake. I definitely need to improve. I thought it was offside at first but the replay shows it wasn't.

“I want to learn all the time. I need to further my development and keep taking each game as it comes.”

Images of Kingsley's match-winning strike against Sampdoria were also shown in the studio, with the man himself commenting: “I was so thrilled to score my first goal, especially as it got us the win.

“We want to try to get into Europe – I certainly do and so do the other lads.”

Ehizibue then revealed some of the advice Sottil has given him in training and matches.

“The coach wants me to defend well as it's very important for the team and to exploit space with my pace. In Germany I played in a four-man defence. Here we play three at the back. I'm learning which movements I need to make to help my team-mates as best I can in this formation."

The 27-year-old also explained his family story.

“My parents were born in Nigeria and I was born in Germany. We moved to the Netherlands when I was three and that's where I grew up, so I feel Dutch.”

Finally, Ehizibue responded to a question about why he previously rejected a move to Genoa.

“I said no to Genoa because I believe in God and I pray a lot. It didn't feel like the right time. My faith is very important. It gives me strength. My family and friends have instilled these values in me.”
