Christian Kabasele stressed the importance of Monday's draw with Bologna – and the manner in which it was achieved – as Udinese ended their losing streak with a positive display at Bluenergy Stadium.
“We needed to get a result today and we did an excellent job,” the defender said. “We hadn't been playing like the usual Udinese in recent games. I'm happy with the result. We had lots of chances, then they had more in the second half. We've been conceding too many goals lately so it was good to keep a clean sheet today.
“We eased up a bit after reaching 40 points. It's a shame because we could have done even better this season. The target is to finish in the top half and get 50 points. We're on the right track but we have to keep it up. Having [Keinan] Davis back is really good for us. He's a player who can score a goal out of nothing. He had a big impact.
“It's important to me to be ready to help the team. The coach and my team-mates needed me and I showed I can still play at this level. I'm pleased with my performance but even more pleased with the point we picked up.”
