Lovric on Udinese v Spezia: “A tough match where we hoped for more”

The Udinese midfielder reflects on the game against Spezia

Udinese emerged with a point from their trip to Spezia on Tuesday night, and despite maintaining their unbeaten record in the league, Andrea Sottil’s men were hoping to come away with a win. Sandi Lovric got the equaliser to seal this hard-fought point. “It’s true, we had to work really hard. There were lots of battles in the middle of the pitch. We hoped for more. It’s a shame about Walace’s shot not going in at the end.”

The Austrian midfielder has only just returned from injury but got a crucial goal, with a special dedication too. “I became a father and I’m happy. I’m pleased when I can help the team, whether with a goal or assist. The important thing, however, is the result.”

Upcoming opponents Napoli won again this evening. “They’re the favourites for Saturday. We’ll try to go for the win.”
