As per tradition, Udinese Calcio showed its commitment to all young fans of the club by sending special diaries to mark the new term.

A few days before the school year starts, Udinese got together with Latteria Soligo to deliver official Udinese diaries to first-year primary school boys and girls in the six comprehensive schools in the Municipality of Udine.

Along with Udine’s Councillor for Sport Antonio Falcone, our goalkeeper Marco Silvestri and captain of the Primavera side Niccolo Cocetta visited the boys and girls of IV Novembre school in Udine, delivering the diaries, meeting all the youngsters and responding to their questions.

It was a great moment of celebration and coming together, reaffirming the club’s commitment to instilling passion for the side from an early age.

In addition, 800 official diaries were delivered to the Udinese Club Association, which will send them to all first-year primary school children in Friuli municipalities where Udinese Clubs are present. The aim is to make our young boys and girls feel part of the Udinese family.

Today is the first step in a series of activities organised by the club for schools in Udine.

Our lads spoke to Udinese TV after the visit:

Marco Silvestri

“It always makes me happy to spend time with kids. It means a lot. Udinese know that and make sure I can be present for moments like this. Every girl and boy should enjoy themselves playing football, without any pressure or worries. To become a goalkeeper, the most important thing is not to be afraid of anything.

“As for the team, we are enjoying a great period. Perhaps it would have been better had there not been the international break, but we’ll take advantage of it and make sure that we’re ready for Hellas Verona.

“Personally, I have to keep going and let my work on the pitch do the talking when it comes to the national side. My luck is linked to Udinese’s, so I have to continue on this path and I’m sure that it will bring rewards like it has for my team-mates.”

Niccolò Cocetta

“It’s a wonderful experience bringing these diaries to the kids and being an example to them. It’s nice for them but also for us. I advise anyone who plays football to train as hard as possible and give everything. In terms of the Primavera, the start of the season has been tough but there’s plenty of time to work and improve.”
