Ilija Nestorovski rued what might have been after Udinese let slip a two-goal lead at Salernitana. The 33-year-old made it 2-0 with half an hour played only to see the hosts complete the turnaround with a stoppage-time winner.
“It didn't go the way we wanted,” the Macedonian commented after the final whistle. “We started off so well but then conceded out of the blue in the 42nd minute. In the second half we improved and squandered lots of chances before that late blow. We're all gutted.
“In many ways today's match is a reflection of our season. We got off to a great start in the game and this season too but then we fell away. I'm not saying it's been a bad season but we could have been higher up the table. We're very disappointed.”
