Nehuen Perez was pleased with the team performance in spite of conceding an early goal at home to Empoli on Wednesday evening.
“We conceded early on, but went on to produce a top display. We have to keep that up and the goals will then come. The whole team gave everything to try to claim all three points, but we didn’t manage it. Empoli have fast and strong forwards on the counter and they caught us out early on. We then managed the game well and it’s just a shame the second goal didn’t come.”
Perez also uttered words of praise for captain Roberto Pereyra who grabbed the all-important equaliser: “I’m pleased for him that he got his goal. He’s a great player and friend.”
The full-back also looked ahead to the upcoming trip to Juventus, who grabbed a last-gasp winner away to Cremonese in their first game back: “It’ll always be tough against Juve, but we don’t fear them. We have to play our game and showcase everything that we know.”
