Lazar Samardzic offered his assessment after Udinese were held to a 1-1 draw by Hellas Verona.
Verona took an early lead via a fortunate deflection before the German equalised midway through the half, with Udinese's repeated attempts to find a winner ultimately in vain.
“I think it was an excellent team performance,” the 20-year-old began. “It's a real shame we couldn't get the second goal.
“The goal we scored is the sort of move we work on in training. I hit it first time with the outside of my boot as I didn't have time to open up my foot. It was a nice goal.
“I think I played well personally. I'm just disappointed we couldn't win.”
