Vivaldo Semedo, the club’s new signing in attack, discussed his game and more in an exclusive interview with Udinese TV.

“My first few days in Udine have been fantastic because it’s a beautiful city and I’ve been made to feel so welcome by the club and the team. I’m thrilled to be here. I’m delighted to be in Italy and in Serie A, especially at this big club.

“I’m trying not to think about how much money was spent on me or what my value is. I’m just focused on playing, enjoying myself and improving. I’m a very technical player who likes getting into the box and scoring, just like any other striker.

“I really like Thierry Henry and also players like Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski, but my absolute favourite is certainly Henry.

“I’ve spoken to Beto many times and he’s given me advice over the last few days. He’s helped me understand my new surroundings, both in the city and at the club. He told me to enjoy this experience to the max, train hard and give everything for the club, given that I’m so young.

“It was important to pick up three points against Monza and Beto got on the scoresheet, so it was a perfect afternoon. I’m pleased.

“I’ve bought into the project straight away because they believe in me here and in my ability to improve. I’m ready to repay that faith in me on the pitch.

“I got a taste of a different style of play in Portugal and improved so much, but I think there’s still plenty of room for improvement.

“I want to improve as much as I can, integrating myself into the team. My aim is to make my Serie A debut and score lots of goals.

“As players, we always have to work hard to reach the highest level and I really like the idea of playing for the senior national side.

“I’d say to the fans that they can expect a great mentality from me and constant improvement. I’ll try to entertain them."
