Oumar Solet was left to rue what might have been after Udinese very nearly came back from 2-0 down at Inter to claim a point at San Siro.

The centre-back scored his first Serie A goal with a long-range effort in the second half to give Udinese hope and almost made it two with a close-range finish in injury time – only for Yann Sommer to deny him with a near-post save.

This is what he had to say after the game:

“The second half was better but we gave the ball away too cheaply in the first half. Inter are a great team and if you let them have chances they're going to score.

“We came back out after the second half determined to try and get a goal. We knew that if we got one, we'd put them under pressure. We did that but then we weren't able to get a second. We'll take the positives from the second half.

“I'm very happy with my goal. We were losing and we needed to scoreI did my best to help the team. Unfortunately we lost but I'm pleased with the goal.”

On reported interest from other clubs: “I don't pay any attention to what the media say. I just try to play well and do my best. I'm happy in Udine and I hope to continue like this.”
