Andrea Sottil has called on his side to return to winning ways with an Udinese performance when they host Monza at Dacia Arena on Saturday.

“Monza play decent football and they've having an excellent season,” the coach said on the eve of the Serie A fixture. “They have some great players, international players, with the likes of me [Matteo] Pessina, [Stefano] Sensi, [Andrea] Petagna and Pablo Mari. They're a quality side so we'll have to be careful.

“We'll respect Monza but we have the ability to hurt them. We need to play like Udinese, impose our game and our pressing to get the three points.

“I've been on a wonderful journey with these players for nine months now and it's not over yet because we have ten more games to go, with 30 points to play for. One thing I've always told them is we must always play with our identity and I think we've always gone out there and tried to play our game. We know we definitely got it wrong against Bologna and perhaps the first half against Tornio. The other thing I insist on is a winning mentality: we must try to win every match. I think we've shown that.

“We've had an excellent season so far and I firmly believe that every team has the points they deserve come the end of the campaign. 38 points is probably where we should be now. Tomorrow is the start of the season finale and our targets are, firstly, to start playing well again, on both an individual and a team level, and secondly to try to beat Monza.

“I hope our fans keep getting behind us, especially now, when points and league positions matter more than ever. I want the fans to know that we're ready for these ten last battles.”
