Udinese Calcio and Tavagnacco Calcio Femminile have united to give women’s youth football a bigger platform in Friuli.

In recent years, women's football has seen an exponential growth in the region, and due to the historic link between the two clubs, Udinese Calcio want to make a further step by entrusting its women's youth teams to Tavagnacco.

All the young Udinese players will have the opportunity to continue their development at Tavagnacco, a club that plays the highest level of women's football in the region. This applies to both the first team and the youth teams, giving them the opportunity to find fertile ground to cultivate their dreams.

The agreement with Tavagnacco and the FIGC means that starting from the 2021/22 season all the girls from Udinese Calcio will be able to sign up exclusively with Tavagnacco Calcio Femminile, which will thus welcome new members in all their teams, from the Primi Calci through to the Under 19s.

"We have always believed in women's football," said Franco Collavino, General Manager of Udinese Calcio. “We've been working on projects to do with the woman's game for a few years and they have had a great response from the girls in our region. With a view towards further developing the women's game - and capitalising on new FIGC regulations - we wanted to breathe some new life into our partnership with Tavagnacco.

"This gives our girls the opportunity to continue to grow in a historic club for Italian women's football competing at the highest national levels, especially at academy level, and it also strengthens our bond with the region through a youth set-up to which we have long been linked. For our part, as Udinese Calcio, the support will remain constant with the commitment to continue promoting and improving women's football."
