Following the defeat to Fiorentina, Gerard Deulofeu shared his thoughts with Udinese TV: “We can't throw away the first half like we did at Roma and like we did today. We can't go into the game like that. We are Udinese – we can cause problems for our opponents from the first minute, but we keep waiting until the second half. In the first half we were chasing the ball and defending, then we only managed to play better when we went behind. We must learn from today's mistakes – we must be able to play for 90 minutes with the same intensity as we did in the second half today. On Beto, he's certainly a different centre forward to [Nacho] Pussetto but I feel good playing with him because I've played with other similar centre forwards before. I haven't seen the penalty incident yet, but I immediately told the referee that I felt the level of contact was minor. In any case we have no excuses, we conceded in the first half like we did against Roma. We created several chances when the ball came to my side and I'm happy about that, also about the fact that I managed to play 3 games in 6 days. We may have lost them all, but we have to think about the next game and push harder to take the team up the table. It’s clear that when we changed formation, we played better but that's because we were trailing and that's when we woke up. This must not happen – we have to give everything from the first minute. I think we can perform with any formation, and I can play either as a striker or as a winger. What needs to change is the attitude from the first whistle, so we don’t give the first half to our opponents.”
