After the home stalemate with Bologna, Luca Gotti discussed the contest with Udinese TV.

“When you’re a man down, sometimes the other ten players somehow feel they have to give more.

“Over the last two weeks with the squad, our approach has been the main topic, in terms of never getting that part of our game wrong. Above all, it has to be spot on tactically and mentally, as well as physically.

“In the second half, we took to the pitch with a completely different mentality even though we were down to ten men and the game had become dangerous

“In the end, getting a point in these circumstances was certainly not a given, so we’re pleased.

“As for Beto, he certainly has quality and there’s something different about him compared with the others. He’s hugely motivated and has a relentless desire to improve. That helps him and us.

“In terms of our fixtures, the good thing is that we have Atalanta, Verona and then Inter coming up. They’re all teams that play with high intensity and force you to dig deep to play as we did in the second half today, so that’s a good thing.”
