Luca Gotti had this to say as he spoke to DAZN before Udinese v Bologna: “Three of our players were away on international duty this week and three others had some physical problems. That said, compared to the long breaks we’ve had in previous years, this time we had a chance to work a bit more and improve some aspects of our game. I'm satisfied with the calibre of the players available because we have two pairs of wide players with complementary characteristics, who can be used at different times of the game and can provide a different boost. The fact that Larsen can play on both sides is great because it gives us more flexibility, plus we have some other very young players who are growing well for the future. On paper Bologna are probably one of those teams that we can consider a direct rival but, unlike what has happened in previous years, the characteristics of the squad give me a chance to weigh up different solutions. Players’ form can fluctuate and we try to address areas where we may be lacking with other systems of play.”
