Luca Gotti reflected on a frustrating result as his side were denied three points after conceding another late penalty against Bologna.

“It's not nice to have regrets,” the coach began after the 1-1 draw. “We analyse things to understand our mistakes so that we don't repeat them but today, absurdly, we succeeded in making the same mistake again. We gave away a goal as we did against Benevento and this run of penalties we've conceded is hard to put into words.

“We were all really gutted after the way the match unfolded against Juventus last Sunday and I think we played with swagger in the first half today – both on the ball and defensively.

“In the second we felt the fatigue and we had to defend the lead, so it was more about managing the game but we looked for chances to kill it off.

“I think the referee spared [Jerdy] Schouten a second yellow card but then we went and gifted them a goal.

“I'm glad a superb performance by [Rodrigo] De Paul is considered the norm now because it shows what a great player he is, with his goals and assists. We have an excellent relationship and he's invaluable to us.

“I don't know anything about [Rodrigo] Becao's injury but I think he came off straight away as a precaution. We'll know more after he's had some tests.”
