Is tomorrow a decisive game to put any relegation doubts behind you?

“That's the target we've had for a few games now. We want to put that one to bed so we can concentrate on chasing the teams above us.”

Is there anything in particular you want to see your team doing better tomorrow than in recent outings?

“We haven't picked up many points lately but I don't think we've been playing badly. We've paid a high price and dropped points because of small details. We mustn't let that happen tomorrow. We must make sure those key moments go our way, especially in the two penalty boxes.”

Ilija Nestorovski's injury is the latest setback to your attacking options.

“He'll see professor Mariani in Rome on Monday and then we'll find out how serious it is. I wish him all the best. [Fernando] Llorente has a little problem too and we'll see if we can get him fit for tomorrow.”

Udinese have conceded the second-most penalties in Serie A this season: nine in total, with three of those coming in the last four matches. Is that something you've spoken to the players about?

“Yes, we obviously talk about it, although it's not an easy problem to deal with because it's different every time. An external observer sees an image of a player raising his arm and makes a decision based on the rules. But if you look at the bigger picture, whether it's a defender or any other position, players have to move about when they're in the area, to close down an opponent, change direction or go up for a header. I think the people who wrote the rules don't fully understand that sort of situation.”

Will you change the team since it's the third match in a week?

“The final 24 hours and our last training session before the game will help us recover a bit of energy. We'll look at everything and speak to the players to find out if everyone has recovered fully.”
