Nuytinck: “I believe in this team. It’s an honour to be captain”

The skipper spoke to Udinese TV

Udinese captain Bram Nuytinck was a guest on this evening’s episode of Udinese Tonight. Read on to find out what he had to say:

“The mood after three defeats is never going to be the best. I think we played well in our last two games and can take confidence from that, but losing three on the spin is never good.

“Making a slow start against Roma was expected as we wanted to keep it tight. We were fast out the traps against Napoli and conceded two early goals. Our start against Fiorentina was similar to the one against Roma. We could’ve done better, but we did change it up in the second half.

“[Dusan] Vlahovic is a top player, but I tried to do everything to thwart him. It wasn’t easy, but I’m pleased with my performance.

“It’s an honour to wear the captain’s armband. I’ve been here for five years and I now know everyone. I like speaking to the boss and my team-mates, which is crucial for a captain.

“As for our struggles in attack, the situation has changed since last year because [Nacho] Pussetto and [Gerard] Deulofeu are back now. We’ve also got new signings such as Beto and [Isaac] Success, who are both very good forwards. Beto is very strong, has long legs and is very quick. You can see how strong he is in training. I’m very pleased to have him in our squad.

“I have lots of belief in this team because I think we play good football. We can go a long way this year.”
